Background:

Established in 1996, Andersen Scientific is an FDA-registered contract sterilization facility catering to industries with low volume sterilization requirements. We provide the high-quality usually associated with commercial  sterilization companies. In fact, we go one step further. Our fees include a biological indicator and immediate Dosimetric reading from every sterilization bag. Unlike many of the larger companies, we do not charge for the BI or the incubation and reporting--everything is included in our low price of $149.

In addition to contract sterilization, we offer custom sterilization and sealer validations specifically tailored to your device(s). Our years of validation expertise have enabled us to validate the most challenging of devices. Our validation turnaround times are short--often  completed in less than eight weeks. Having our own on-site testing facility helps reduce validation completion times. Our sterilization validations, developed in NC, USA, have been implemented and used worldwide and have been reviewed by many of the largest notified bodies, including the FDA.

What do you consider small-lot?

We can even receive single devices--no volume is too small. Remember, you only pay in increments of 1.24ft3 of volume used--see our pricing structure.

Example: BioTech Ind1--a tissue engineering laboratory, is contracted to perform a single study, and their delicate cell lines can only be sterilized using Ethylene Oxide. BioTech Ind1 does not have its own sterilizer, so the available options are to find a company that does. Historically, hospitals used to help out small companies, offering to sterilize their instruments for a fee, but hospitals are becoming increasingly worried about the legal ramifications and breaking hospital protocol. The solution is Andersen Scientific, Inc., where you can have your devices sterilized overnight for as little as $149.

History:

Andersen Scientific, Inc., began as a spin-off from Andersen Products, Inc., a company that for over forty (40) years has been a leader in innovating new technologies using Ethylene Oxide to sterilize devices for the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) device industry, hospitals, dentists, podiatrists, vet and research laboratories. We use the patented Andersen EOGas process where very small amounts of sterilant are used to sterilize small to mid-sized volume devices. Each sterilization load is placed in one or our 1.243ft flexible sterilization chambers (EOGas bag). An Ethylene Oxide gas cartridge is placed within the bag, the bag is sealed and then placed within the sterilizer. Each bag can be loaded into the sterilizer at different times and so we have the flexibility of adding any load to a sterilizer even when the sterilizer is in a sterilization mode. It is this function that allows us to decrease our fees and our turnaround times.
